JEF Portugal is an organization of young people who
stand for a Europe where values of democracy,
solidarity, justice, liberty and approach between
citizens should prevail.
Aware that the construction of such Europe will not be
accomplished solely with politics but also with the
full participation of all Europeans and, especially
with that of youngsters, JEF Portugal is launching its
second photography contest, under the theme "smiles",
based on the attached regulation.
This contest has two goals:
1. To motivate the interest in photography and its
importance and impact as a vehicle of communication
and expression for young people.
2. To demonstrate that the "smiles/smiling" between
young Europeans may develop much stronger and lasting
bonds and bridges than any political treaties.
In light of the above, we ask that all individuals
between 15 and 35 years old participate in this
contest, thus revealing how much a smile may bring us
closer, irregardless of race, ethnic origin, religion,
beliefs, gender, opinion, sexual orientation and
nationality. A smile is a global act.
We make a special appeal for all entities,
organizations and institutions, which identify with
this project, to collaborate with us, through:
- Spreading the word about this contest;
- Appealing to the participation of young people.
